Karibu
(pronounced
kah-ree-boo)
is a Swahili
word that
means
“Welcome
Home.”

This name
was given in a
way to set the
tone for the
Karibu House
Community
Center in
Detroit.  A
place where
people can
come home
and feel
welcomed,
“at home.”
